Two recurring characters wander through an increasingly ridiculous universe governed by one basic rule: if there’s a way to turn it into sheet, eventually it probably will be.

And beneath all the ridiculousness, there may even be something strangely familiar about it. Because life itself is kind of a sheet show. Plans fall apart. Things break. People misunderstand each other. We make terrible decisions with tremendous confidence. Then somehow, we get up the next morning and do it all again. Maybe that’s why these expressions exist in the first place: little pieces of language we invented to describe the chaos of being human. This book simply makes the mistake of illustrating them.

So take your time with it. Guess the phrase before turning the page. Show a picture to someone else and see whether they get it. Argue about what it means. Laugh at the characters. Laugh at yourself. Be mildly offended if necessary.

Who am I? What am I doing here? Why is there so much sheet? There are no answers to those questions in this book. We checked. But there is plenty of sheet.
